Off in the distance, a
haunting cry echoes on the night breeze almost
as if they dance to the haunting melody shining
through the night thickness
She pauses in her travels raises
her head and listens to the echoes of the cry and
silence again befalls the land eyes
shining with a century of knowledge and
howls towards the moon lit sky
Her
song is a song of beauty, of wonder, of love is
a song of her life, her travels, who she is then slowly lowering the pitch ends
her answering cry The answer is again heard on the winds taken
up by the pack. and
smiles her wolfish smile She
sets off slowly in the direction of the cry Another year has passed for her The
Lady of the Wolves both
of sadness and happiness is
a cry of joy in having known her is
a cry of thanks for having taught them
